Sido Kanhu Murmu University or Siddhu
Kanhu University was founded on 10 January 1992 through an Act of Bihar
Legislative Assembly. University extends over the six districts of Santhal
Pargana where its thirteen constituent and nine permanently associated colleges
are located. It is a public university located in the indigenous peoples
dominated area of Santhal Parganas region of Jharkhand state in eastern India.
The university was accredited by and associated to the Association of Indian
Universities on 6 May 1993. It was granted identification under Section 12 (B)
of the UGC Act, 1956 in May 2006. Currently, the University is providing
courses in Humanities, Commerce, Management, Engineering, Science and
Technology, and Law. It also provides self-financing courses in BCA, MCA, Lib.
Sc and PhD etc.
