Soochow University was set up on
is 1900, is settled in the ancient town of Suzhou, also called "Paradise
on Earth". The university is function of the national "211
Project" and is a "2011 Plan" university. Presently has offered
twenty-six post-doctoral programs, twenty-four fields of study doctoral
programs, letting in 167 doctoral programs with different areas of emphasis,
one professional doctoral program, forty-seven field of study master’s
programs, letting in 244 master’s degrees with different areas of emphasis, twenty-one
professional master’s programs, and 124 undergrad programs. Today, Soochow
University has formulated into a comprehensive university with twelve major fields
of study in art, science, engineering, philosophy, economics, law, agriculture,
medicine, education, literature, history and management science.
