The University of Electronic
Science and Technology of China (UESTC) was set up on 1956, is a renowned research-intensive
university in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. It was let in as one of the 1st
universities into "Project 211", a project in China for growing hundred
first-class universities and a number of key fields of research for the twenty-first
century. It has twenty-two Ministerial or Provincial Key Fields of study, four
National Key Labs and thirty-nine Ministerial or Provincial Key Labs. UESTC provides
thirty-six MoE-authorized subject areas for a Ph.D. UESTC has co-training
agreements in place with over forty overseas institutions. Nowadays, UESTC has grown
into a multidisciplinary university directly reporting to the Ministry of
Education.
