Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore
(Christian Medical College Vellore or CMC Vellore) is an instructive and
research institute. It is also one of the top-ranked medical colleges in India. It was
established in 1900 by an American missionary, Dr Ida S. Scudder. The
college now provides over one hundred fifty different post graduate courses in
the medical, nursing and allied health disciplines, including PhD courses. A
total of almost 2500 scholars are enrolled every year. The
Christian Medical College vellore is a registered voluntary, non-profit
administration. CMC is the home of the South Asian Cochrane Network and Center and
is also an internationally accepted Infectious Diseases Training and Research
Center.
