Kasturba Medical College Chennai is a medical college based in Manipal, Udupi District Karnataka, India. It was founded by Dr. T.M.A. Pai on 30 June 1953; KMC was the 1st self-financing medical college in India. KMC was under the view of the Mangalore University. In 1993, the government of India allowed Deemed University position to Manipal University.Thousands and lakhs of scholars vie for the 360 available seats. The Kasturba Medical College Chennai is a modern facility extending over 150,000 square feet on six floors, and can accommodate 1300 users at a time.KMC Manipal is affected in research in fields of medical sciences.
