Madras Medical College

The Madras Medical College one of the premier Institutions in the nation was started on 16^th November 1664 as a small Hospital to cover the sick soldiers of the East India Company. The beginning batch of students graduated in 1852 and was granted the Diploma of Graduate of the Madras. The Courses provided by the Madras Medical College are associated from 1988 to the “The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University”. This College has nine associated institutions with hospitals, each one of them accredited for excellence in Health care services. The institution holds the place in having produced the first lady Doctor in the English speaking World and also the 1st Indian lady Doctor to graduate from this School.
