Tomsk State University or TSU was
set up in 1878,
is a most famous and oldest
public research university. It is located in Tomsk, Russia. It was the beginning Siberian
Imperial University. Now, there are twenty-one Faculties and Institutes with one
hundred fifty-one Departments, two
branches and thirty-eight centres of preuniversity training and vocational
guidance in Siberia and Kazakhstan. It is about 17,000 scholars (8,000 regular
ones). It has forty-two leading scientific schools, forty-eight science-based
educational centres, with twenty-four
dissertation councils, about twenty Doctor of Science and one hundred Candidate
of Science dissertations are defended annually. The Research Library and Tomsk State University were
string out on 1888.
