Yogi Vemana University

Yogi Vemana University was instituted on 2006 in the Kadapa district with its West Campus at Idupulapaya. The campus is covering 450 acres. Yogi Vemana University has now fifteen departments providing courses at post graduate level in seventeen disciplines in Languages/ Humanities/Physical and Bio-Sciences, Human Resources Management, Master in Business Administration & MCA and new sciences like Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Geoinformatics and Earth Sciences. The university has also put in 5-year integrated M.Sc. courses in Earth Sciences and Bioinformatics on 2007-08. Now the university has on its rolls one hundred fifteen faculty members and about two hundred non-teaching staff. Currently it is an affiliating university with almost one hundred Post graduate degrees law, B.Ed, MCA, and Master in Business Administration and Physical Education colleges under its jurisdiction. The University also began research programmes leading to PhD in the year 2010 and presently about one hundred seventy research scholars are pursuing research in twenty-seven different Departments.
