The Yashwantrao Chavan
Maharashtra Open University or YCMOU was launched n July 1989 through Act XX-
(1989) of the Maharashtra State Legislature. The central office of the university
is settled at Nashik. The YCMOU has been accredited under section 12 (B) of the
University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
It is the most famous 5th Open University in India. The University provides
offline programmes and has also started online initiatives. The university has
offered academic certifications like certificates, diplomas, graduate,
post-graduate and doctoral degrees.
