U.P. King George’s University of
Dental Science is a most famous medical university. The Dental Faculty of the
college was set up as a classify section of the Department of Surgery on 1949
with ten admissions to the B.D.S. course. It was changed into a separate
Department in 1950, had a new building in 1952, began post-graduate training
courses on 1964, had some other new building and attained the position of a
separate Faculty in 1980. Now it consists of seven departments namely Oral
Pathology, Prosthodontics, Operative Dentistry, Orthodontics, Periodontics,
Pedodontics and Oral Surgery. A post of Dean of Dental Faculty was made which
rotates amongst the Professors at an interval of 3 years.
