Tianjin University of Traditional
Chinese Medicine or TUTCM was set up on 1958, is the name of a famous university
in Tianjin, China under the municipal government. As the name involves, it
specializes in traditional Chinese medicine. TUTCM provides Bachelor, Master
and PhD programs, with in the lead comprehensive strength among China’s
colleges of TCM. The university at present has fifteen schools, branches and
departments, six associated hospitals, thirty teaching hospitals, one research
institute of TCM, five provincial-level medical research centers, two state
pharmaceutical clinical research bases, one preparation center and one
pharmaceutical factory.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is
the heritage of Chinese civilization, the medical essence of 5,000 years’
Chinese history, which makes a large part for the prosperity of the Chinese
nation. TUTCM devotes itself to the excavating and collecting of traditional
Chinese medicine, personnel education and scientific research. It completes set
of specialties and a distinguished learning staff. As an external higher
education base of TCM authoritative through the State Education Ministry and
the placement of the Educational Instruction Committee of World Federation of
Chinese Medicine Societies
