The West Bengal National
University of Juridical Sciences or WBNUJS or NUJS was founded on 1999 through
the Bar Council of India, is an independent law university providing courses at
the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. NUJS is coordinated into a number of
schools of study, each independent in conception and operation, still
integrated by programmes of teaching, research and extension function. The
university has a big law library. The university provides a five-year
integrated B.A./BSc. LLB (Hons.) degree programme at the undergraduate degree
and a Master of Laws (LLM) programme at the postgraduate degree. All Admission
programme is by the Common Law Admission Test, a highly competitive, nationwide
common entrance examination, held jointly by fourteen of the seventeen national
law schools. NUJS also provides MPhil, PhD and diploma in business laws and
other programs.
