Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University

The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University was founded on 1999, normally referred to as SMVD University or SMVDU. It is a university on 470-acre (190 ha) campus settled near Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. The University is sanctioned by UGC under Section 2(F) & Section 12(B) of UGC Act of 1956. The university is fully residential and offers technical teaching in the field of engineering, science, management, philosophy and other subjects of contemporary importance, with all technical courses accredited by AICTE, CIC and COA. It university has provided respective programs of Study at undergraduate, Post-graduate and Doctorate level. The university has over thirty-five laboratories.
