Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita National University of Journalism is called after Makhanlal Chaturvedi, a famous Freedom Fighter, Poet and Journalist. Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Vishwavidyalaya Bhopal was established by Act Number 15 of 1990 of the Legislative Assembly of Madhya Pradesh. It is not an Open University offering Distance Education. It does not offer education by correspondence. The University objectives are growing excellent professionals with social commitment. The University prescribes norms for infrastructure, makings and number of faculty, qualification for admission of scholars, norms of admission of scholars on merit, curriculum, and teaching days.  Attendance required (75%) for scholars to be qualified to appear at the University examination and for other matters for which a Conventional University ordinarily prescribes norms for its associated colleges.
