Mangalore University campus at
Mangalagangothri was established on 1980 settled about twenty kilometers to the
south-east of the historic coastal town of Mangalore. The campus, which once put
up mere 3 postgraduate departments, at present has 25 postgraduate departments,
supported through advanced infrastructure and experienced faculty. The
University has computerized its administrative authorities in order to quicken
the administrative process. The University has launched several endowment chairs
with the aim of enabling studies on the growth achieved in areas such as bank
management, yoga, ayurveda, Sanskrit literature, literary criticism, Kanakadasa
studies, Christianity, rural development, literature, culture, ecology and
environment, Tulu language, and visual/fine arts.
