Fakir Mohan University

The Fakir Mohan University, Balasore was founded on 1999 through the Government of Odisha. It has been duly accepted through the UGC under section 2(f) of the UGC Act through the notification No. F-9-1/2000 (CPP-I), dated 11 February 2000 as well as under section 12(B), vide UGC letter no. F.9-1/2000 (CPP-I) dated 23 December 2005. The university has sixty colleges and 15,000 scholars at the graduate and postgraduate levels. It is the only University in India that provides a postgraduate course in Ballistics. The University has now 7 Post Graduate Teaching-cum-Research Departments.
