IIT Kanpur

IIT Kanpur was established in 1959. It full name is The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur but it is commonly known as IIT Kanpur or IITK. It is a public research college settled in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. IIT Kanpur was the beginning institute in India to provide Computer Science education. IIT Kanpur has ten boys' hostels, two girls' hostels. It offered UG, PG and PhD degree courses in various courses on management and social sciences. Its Undergraduate admissions until 2012 were being done by the national-level Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) and Postgraduate admissions are made by the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.
