A.N. Sinha Institute of Social Studies, Patna was launched was introduced on the 31st of January 1958 through the Government of Bihar in remembering of Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha. Chanakya National Law University, A. N. Sinha Institute of Social Studies Campus is located on the southern bank of river the Ganga. It is one of the architects of advanced Bihar. It offered PhD Programme in Social Sciences in eligible students.

A N Sinha Institute of Social Studies Ph.D programme is designed to develop issue based, inter-disciplinary, applied as well as pure research preference among the scholars so that they could understand the local, regional, national and international problems. It main purpose of Pre-Ph.D. course work is to instill central research aptitude among the research students, by systemic training in computer aided research methodology and interactions.  Ph.D course has been integrated as per the guidelines of UGC.
