Haldia Institute of Technology or HIT was 1996, is 1st private initiated engineering institute. It is located in Haldia, West Bengal, India. It is approved through All India Council for Technical Education New Delhi & affiliated to MAKAUT (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology). HIT is committed to the aims of making highly trained professional manpower in respective fields of study of Engineering, Technology and Social Science. HIT has one of the biggest IEEE Scholars' Branches in Eastern India. Prayukti is the yearly techno management fest of HIT Haldia. It has State-of-the-art central computing facility with more than eight hundred fifty computers.
