The China University of
Geosciences was set up on October 1952, is settled in Haidian District in
Beijing. It is a key national university right away under the administration of
the Education Ministry of the People's Republic of China. Now the University
has eight national key disciplines, thirteen provincial or ministerial key
disciplines, among which two first-class fields of study, namely, geological
resources and geological engineering, and geology, rank the first in China
respectively. It has provided sixty undergraduate programs, nine post-doctoral
research centers in the school. CUG has been given the authority to award
doctoral degree in thirteen fields of study (first-class) and to award master
degree in thirty-eight disciplines (first-class). The university has also
offered Professional Degrees in Engineering Master, MBA, MPA, MFA and J.M etc.
