Maharashtra Animal & Fishery
Sciences University or MAFSU officially notified on 17 Nov 2000 was founded
under the State Act No. 1998 (Mah XVII of 1998) on 3rd Dec 2000. The MAFSU will be a globally accredited
University of Excellence, specializing in animal, veterinary, dairy and fishery
sciences and technologies. The University has been carved out of the 4
Agriculture Universities in the state through transferring 5 Veterinary
Colleges, 1 Post Graduate Institute of Veterinary & Animal Sciences and one
Dairy Technology College. The University draws its most important financial
support from the State Government’s Annual Grants for meeting its expenses on
salaries and recurring and non-recurring expenses relating to the plan and
non-plan subjects.
