The Cancer Research Institute at Parel is most famous know Tata Institute of Cancer Research on nearly 60th year. The CRI at Parel, Mumbai change location to Navi Mumbai to turn the introductory research wing of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research & Education in Cancer (ACTREC), and began working from its new premises at Kharghar from the 19th of Aug 2002. Indian Cancer Research Centre was launched as a primary research institute for basic research on 1952.
The Institute originated the festivities of its Golden Jubilee Year with the Launching Day Lecture through Nobel Laureate, Sir Paul Nurse in January 2002, it coordinated the 25th All India Cell Biology Conference and Symposium where over two hundred fifty scientists from India and abroad took part and exchanged views on recent trends in Cell Biology.
