The Kalyani University was launched on 1960 and has developed into a most important post graduate institution with strong bases of organization and specified faculty towards the delegation of advancement of learning and research. It help of Distance Education Council, IGNOU, some other Universities of West Bengal has founded DODL (Directorate of Open & Distance Learning) at post-graduate degree for the scholars who are otherwise deprived of educational activity and as such serving as a light house of the teaching persons of all ages and sex, especially to such persons who for different reasons, cannot undergo the higher courses of learns as regular full time scholars.
