The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur was set up on 1959, it is usually known as IIT Kanpur or IITK. It is a postgraduate independent university announced to be Institute of National Importance through Government of India under IIT Act. IITK is one of the 1st Indian Institute of Technology. It is settled on the Grand Trunk Road, fifteen kilometers west of Kanpur City, standards close to four hundred twenty hectares. The objective of the Cultural Council is to coordinate and encourage all cultural educational activity and any other duty assigned by the Senate.
