Andhra University was set up on 1926 in Visakhapatnam, is one of the more previous main universities in India with a broad focus. It is the 1st university in India to provide an under graduate programme on 1957. There are five hundred seventy-five associated colleges spread across 5 districts under the territorial jurisdiction of Andhra University. The University is defended by almost eight hundred sixty teachers and more than 25 hundred non-teaching and technical staff. The university campus has nineteen hostels for men and four hostels exclusively for women that accommodate more than 43 hundred students.
