Texas A&M Health Science Center (A&M School of Medicine) as one of 9 medical schools in Texas, it provides scholars an excellent medical educational activity experience as well as research opportunities. It was launched on 1977 as component of Texas A&M University. It remains committed to offering an environment which encourages unity, compassion, and excellence in its time to come physicians & scientists. Research is carried on through both the basic science & clinical departments & the research institutes associated with the College of Medicine. It provides the Doctor of Medicine degree, as well as a dual Doctor of Medicine /Master in Business Administration program by a partnership with the Texas A&M University Mays Business School.
College of Medicine presently enrolls two hundred scholars per year. Scholars are appropriately distributed between 6 program alternatives and 3 campus sites. The HSC-College of Medicine admission is majorly competitive, and looks at for enrollment only someone’s who have finished at least ninety semester credit hours (or equivalent quarter hours) of their undergraduate course work at a only recognized college or university in the United States or Canada. The A&M School of Medicine got 3480 applications for two hundred places on 2011.
