OAS Exam divides into 3 parts for the first time Preliminary Examination, second time Main Examination and third Personality Test or Interview.

Preliminary Test –

First Paper – General Studies (150 Marks)

Second Paper – One subject to be selected from the following given Optional Subjects (300 Marks)

Preliminary Examination Optional Subjects –Civil Engineering, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce & Accountancy, Agriculture, Management, Mathematics, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Forestry, Fisheries Science, Law, Public Administration, Geography, Geology, Home Science, History, Sociology, Statistics and Zoology, Mechanical Engineering, Animal,  Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science & International Relations, Psychology, Anthropology,  Education, Agricultural Engineering

Main Test –

First Paper – Oriya Language (300 Marks)

Second Paper –English (300 Marks)

Third Paper – English Essay (200 Marks)

Fourth Paper –General Studies-I (300 Marks)

Fifth Paper – General Studies-II (300 Marks)

Sixth, Seventh, Eighth & Ninth Paper – any two subjects to be selected from the list of optional subjects set out below. Each subject will have two papers – 300 Marks for each paper
