Magadh University was based on 2nd March 1962 by the Government of Bihar under Bihar Act IV of 1961. It is highly fortunate and blessed to be situated at Bodh-Gaya, where Lord Buddha got enlightenment. The University center office is located at a distance of fifteen kilometer from Gaya city and is well linked with Rail, Road and Airways. The University offers facilities for higher studying and research in the faculties of Science, Social Sciences, Humanities and Commerce. The University began working with only two constituent colleges, thirty-two affiliated colleges and seven P.G Departments.
