National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) was set up on 12 July 1982 and it is an apex development bank in India having central office based in Mumbai (Maharashtra) and other branches are all over the nation. It has been recognized with "things concerning policy, planning and performances in the field of credit for agriculture and other economic activities in rural fields in India". RBI sold its stake in NABARD to the Government of India, which now holds ninety-nine percentage stakes. It was founded on the good word of Shivaraman Committee, through an act of Parliament on twelve July 1982 to implement the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development Act 1981. It purpose in rural development in India is extraordinary.
