IACS Kolkata India

IACS Kolkata India was launched in July 1876 and it is a national institution for higher studying whose principal purpose is to foster high quality fundamental research in frontier fields of study of the basic sciences. The original target of the Association, which remains even nowadays, was to cultivate science in all its sections both with a view to its advancement by original research and to its varied applications to the arts and comforts of life. Today it is an independent body provided by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of the government of India and through the government of West Bengal. IACS began carrying on a Post B.Sc Integrated Ph.D Programme in Chemical Sciences (INTPCS) since the academic term 2005-2006.
