Rabindra Bharati University

Rabindra Bharati University was founded on 8 May 1962 under the Rabindra Bharati Act to mark the birth centenary of poet Rabindranath Tagore. The original aim of Rabindra Bharati Society was also the growth Dance, Drama and Music, the general body of the Rabindra Bharati Society satisfied and agreed that it should be merged with projected university. The primary administrative office is also located at the Emerald Bower Campus. The university provides undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Performing Arts and Visual Arts under the Faculty of Fine Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences and other fields of study under the Faculty of Arts. The university at present also offers a post-graduate degree for international scholars in its new Salt Lake Campus.
