Himachal Pradesh University or
HPU was founded on 1975, is a public non-profit university at Summer Hill almost
five kilometer from the world-famous hill-station Shimla, in the vicinity of
the Indian Institute of Advanced Study. It is totally financed through the
government of Himachal Pradesh and the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.
There are twenty-eight learning departments in the University Campus. All the academic activities of respective
departments are organized through the Dean of Studies. The Dean of Studies is responsible
making the agenda of admissions, teaching, examination and publications of course
catalog for admissions.
