The Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Advanced Maritime Studies and Research or LBS College Mumbai was launched through Transport Ministry, Government of India on 1948. It is a main & most famous post-sea maritime education & training institute providing a comprehensive range of courses for merchant navy officers. It is settled almost l.5 kilometer from the closest railway station 'Reay Road' on the Harbour line of Central Railway & it is adjacent to Tata Oil Mills. This college pulls a large number of scholars in marine education & is maybe the biggest in scholarly person population among the marine institutions of the global.
