Kalyani University

The University of Kalyani was founded on 1^st Nov 1960 and it is offering academic guidance and leadership to thirty-seven associated colleges (sixteen in Nadia, twenty in Murshidabad and one in North 24 Parganas). There are two hundred seventeen teachers assisting 2,000 post graduate and PhD students. The University is located in a locality surrounded by a rural setting within a serene background and it distance from Kolkata is only fifty kilometer. The Department of Physics is one of the most previous departments of the university and was founded on 1961. It has a 3-star certification from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
